A Blog Article Posted by Church Lobbyist Darrin Mitchell:
“I wonder how far Moses would have gone if he’d taken a poll in Egypt. A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and the optimist is the one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.” President Harry S. Truman, 33rd President of the United States • 1945-1953
Every week the ACLA receives E-mails or general mail voicing opposition or support to the lobbying and political ministry work that we have been endeavoring to do for these past 7-1/2 years. I just read and responded to the last batch of these putting a final closure on the year 2011 for the American Christian Lobbyists Association (the ACLA).
I wish to take this moment on behalf of the ACLA to thank our website visitors and regular viewers for their active participation in the political process by using our website resources to register to vote and/or to make their vote count by redressing their grievances as protected and encouraged under the First Amendment to write, call and directly lobby their states elected officials in the U.S. Congress.
2012 will present new political challenges and opportunities. As we move forward, it is our hope as an organization that you will join us and become an active card carrying member of the ACLA by financially supporting our firms lobbying work. In addition, the ACLA will be recruiting politically active conservative Christian individuals, families, businesses and churches to retain our firm's lobbying services to help them lobby their states elected members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to vote on pending Abortion-End Of Life, Christian Free Speech or Marriage bills and resolutions that will carry over from 2011 into the 2012 session of the 112th U.S. Congress.
We plan to do this in the same spirit that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians when he said: “for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:5-7
In my last official action of 2011 as the President of the ACLA, I wish to thank the individuals, families, business people and pastors who regularly pray for our organization and for the letters of support we have received. The positive testimonials from individual voters who have learned how to use their political witness makes all the effort and work that we put into our political lobbying efforts worthwhile. Thank you and we wish you God’s blessings as you celebrate the New Year holiday!
